Then you will explore the enchanting Incan Capital of Cusco filled with history and beauty. From the stunning churches in the Plaza de Armas to the Incan ruins and the gorgeous landscape of the Sacred Valley, this is indeed a treasured spot.
From Cusco, say goodbye to Peru. You will head to Quito where you will spend the night in a luxury five star hotel before heading to the newly remodeled La Selva Amazon Ecolodge and Spa in the heart of the Ecuadorian Amazon. Few places on earth make the imagination fly like the Amazon Jungle does; it is the biggest tropical rainforest in the world. In this unique ecosystem, we can experience a vast ocean of greenness that covers only 7% of the land surface, but is home to at least 50% of the world's species.
After relishing in the diversity of the Amazon, you will spend the night in Quito in a luxury hotel before a morning flight to the Galapagos Islands, where you will marvel at this unique paradise. Four wonderful days will be spent aboard a luxury cruise where you will then make way again to Quito for your next morning's departure back home, or better yet, continue on with a personalized add-on trip. |Day 1||Arrival in Peru – Cusco - Urubamba
Upon arrival in Lima's airport our representative will meet and assist you to take the flight to Cusco, where we visit symbolic buildings, like the Cathedral, the Koricancha Temple and San Blas district, and afterwards we drive to the Sacred Valley of the Inca in Urubamba, where we'll spent the night.
After breakfast, we start our day by driving to the traditional market of Pisac. Along the way there, we'll pass through beautiful landscapes of the Sacred Valley of the Urubamba River, with all the vegetation that changes according to the season but is always stunning. Once in the market, the traditions come to life – lots of colorful clothes, interesting and nice handicrafts, and high-quality ponchos. After the market, we'll go to an Inca sun temple: the majestic Ollantaytambo ruins, where the only successful battle for the Inca against the Spanish took place. At the end of these activities, we return to the hotel, and you'll have free time to rest in the facilities or walk around to discover more of this wonderful city.
|Day 3||Urubamba - Machu Picchu- Cusco
Early in the morning, we go to the Ollantaytambo railroad station to start your full day in Machu Picchu. But first, we'll visit the town of Aguas Calientes, and from there we take a bus to reach the marvelous Machu Picchu. In 2007 in a worldwide internet poll, Machu Picchu was selected as one of the 7 wonders of the world, but years before, in 1981, it was declared a Peruvian Historical Sanctuary, and in 1983 a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its beauty, history, great conservation and interesting architecture make these Inca ruins the most important of the ancient empire.
After our day in this stunning complex, we'll first take a train to the Poroy station, and then we transfer you to the hotel in Cusco, where we'll spend the night.
|Day 4||Cusco -Lima - Quito
On this day, you will travel to Ecuador. First, our staff members will transfer you to the airport and assist you in everything you need to be ready to board the plane to Lima, where another one of our representatives will assist you boarding your flight to Quito. Your trip continues in one of the South American countries that is crossed by the equator. Upon arrival in the capital city of Quito, we welcome you and transfer you to your hotel, where you can rest, enjoy the facilities or have a walk to see the nightlife of this beautiful city. Our guide will give you a briefing on the way to the hotel in order to explain about the next day's activities and tell you a bit more about this wonderful country.
|Day 5||Quito - Amazon Rainforest at La Selva Amazon Eco-lodge & Spa
After breakfast, a representative of our staff will be waiting for you to drive you to Quito's airport. Here you will be met by a member of our team who will assist with the check-in procedure and give a short briefing about the flight and the lodge arrival.
|Day 6-7||Amazon Experience
During days 6 to 7, all of your senses will experience the rainforest effect, surrounded by the different animals' sounds and the movements of the trees and river; Walking or canoeing during daylight and nighttime to see the various species around; Feeling the weather of the jungle; Learning from some of the age-old indigenous cultures; Enjoying the delicious food at the lodge; Or relaxing in our spa with a variety of treatments.
|Day 8||Return to Quito
It is time to return to Quito. After an early breakfast, we'll take the same route we did the first day to get to the lodge – we take the paddle canoe, followed by a short walk, and finally the motorized canoe to Coca's dock. From there you'll be taken to the airport for your return to Quito. Upon arrival in the capital, one of our representatives will meet you at the airport to transfer you to the hotel, where you can relax or enjoy the city of Quito by night. Remember that the next day you will go to Galapagos Islands to begin your next great adventure.
|Day 9||Quito – Galapagos
Ready to live an unforgettable experience in the Galapagos Islands? We hope so, because after breakfast, our guide will pick you up and transfer you to the airport for the flight to the Islands. Upon arrival, you will be met by a member of our staff to take you to your selected luxury cruise. On board, after a warm welcome, you'll have a short briefing of the day's activities, and the adventure begins.
|Day 10-11||Living the Galapagos Islands Lifestyle
These two days are going to be remarkable. The Islands are well known around the world because of their history, beauty, and diversity of fauna and flora, and also as an example of environmental conservation. Actually, conservation is one of the main reasons the National Park regulates the activities depending on weather, water status, and seasons; but there is always a lot to see and learn on the Islands. By being on a cruise, you have the opportunity to visit more than one island; moreover, we have the best staff, top naturalist guides, very knowledgeable and excellent chefs to prepare nutritious and delicious food, and everything topped off by great vistas and clear turquoise waters.
|Day 12||Return to Quito
Sadly, it is time to go back after a few days in this dream destination. Our staff will assist you in everything you need and drive you to the airport to catch your flight back to the mainland. Upon arrival, a representative of or team will transfer you to the hotel. On this last day, you can rest, enjoy the hotel facilities, or take a walk to see the active nightlife of the city.
|Day 13||Departure home
According to your flight schedule, our guide will transfer you to the Mariscal Sucre international airport for your flight home.
