Day 1 | Durán - Yaguachi - Naranjito (L, D,) Our first day of this great trip starts at the Eloy Alfaro Train Station, located in the coastal town of Duran. We'll depart towards the Yaguachi station, admiring the beautiful coastal landscape, surrounded by traditional trees, rice fields, and haciendas of local products like bananas, mangos, cacao, and sugar cane. |

Day 2 | Bucay - Huigra - Devil's Nose - Alausí - Guamote - Colta - Riobamba (B/L/D) Early in the morning, we go by bus to the train station and board the train to start going up into the highlands. On this track, we can see how the vegetation changes, climate & temperature change, and you'll also learn more about the different environments. We then arrive to Pistishi viewpoint to observe "The Devil's Nose" (Nariz del Diablo), phenomenal feat of engineering, especially considering when and how it was built. Afterwards, we keep traveling until we reach the Alausi train station, where we spend some time getting to know the local people and learning about the town. We board the train again for lunch, while going to the town of Guamote and then to Colta. In this stretch of railroad, the diversity of highland produce will surprise you with its variety of beautiful colors. |

Day 3 | Riobamba - Urbina - Ambato - Quito (B, L, D) On the third day, we board the Cruise Train at Urbina Station, which is unique for being the highest one in the country, at 3,609m above sea level. You will also meet the iconic Ushca Baltasar, the last ice-merchant of Ecuador. You can hear about his stories, life experiences, and job, which is climbing the high slopes of the towering Chimborazo Volcano in order to harvest ice and sell it in the local market. You can even taste ice cream made with it. After this interesting time, we go by the Ambato train for lunch, and then we'll be transferred to the city of Quito to have dinner and rest for our last day. |

Day 4 | Quito - Otavalo - San Antonio - Quito (B, L) After breakfast, we'll take a bus north to the indigenous and colorful city of Otavalo, where we will experience the ride in steam locomotive while enjoying the view. Upon arrival to San Antonio, a small town well known for its wood artisans, we can look around and learn about their beautiful and unique art and handicrafts. For lunch, we go to a magical place, surrounded by the San Pablo Lake and the Imbabura Mountain to enjoy the local cuisine. After lunch, we return to Quito, and you have time to rest at the facilities or enjoy some of Quito's nightlife. |
